How to Manage Pests

The UC Guide to Healthy Lawns

Reel mowers

Reel mowers sheer grass with a scissorlike action and are best for fine-textured turfgrasses or where a low mowing height is desirable. Where the surface is smooth and even, these mowers work well. They are not useful for tall grasses or areas where the ground is uneven. Reel mowers are either pushed by hand or powered by gasoline engines.
