New employees join staffSusan Cohen is a senior writer for UC IPM’s Education and Publications office. Her duties include writing and revising books in the Pesticide Compendium series and other publications related to pesticide use and safety. Susan will also work with the Department of Pesticide Regulation and technical advisory committees to develop and maintain exams and knowledge expectations for candidates for the pesticide applicator and pest control adviser exams. Susan was the agricultural commissioner for Solano County for 16 years and senior deputy agricultural commissioner for Monterey County for five years. She has also worked for U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Forest Service. Adam Shiffman is an editor for UC IPM. Adam converts year-round IPM programs to Web format, edits them, and adapts monitoring forms and other documents for use as pest management tools. He has more than nine years of experience analyzing, designing and authoring Web content and digital images. He previously worked as a project manager for Zoovy Inc. and as a technology manager for the City of Richmond. Kathy Stewart is an administrative assistant for UC IPM. Kathy provides administrative support to the IPM Education and Publications unit of the IPM Program by providing office reception and office equipment maintenance; maintaining supply and publication inventories; handling mailings; and preparing correspondence, reports. She also assists with special projects. She previously worked as an office coordinator for Freeman Elementary School in Woodland. Rachel Warren is an administrative assistant II for UC IPM. Rachel’s duties include managing purchasing and accounts payable accounts, administrative support, equipment inventory, and records management. She previously worked as an administrative assistant for the UC IPM Pesticide Safety Education Program. |
