Clearwing moth stages and life cycle. Length of mature larva is one inch. Length of pupa and adult body is 3/4 inch.

Illustration of the life cycle of a clearwing moth. An adult moth is at the top with an arrow leading to an oval egg. An arrow goes from the egg to four elongated larval stages, each one slightly larger than the previous. Larvae have dark heads. An arrow leads to the pupal stage. Pupae are oblong and tapered toward the rear. There is an arrow from the pupa back to the adult, completing the cycle. Credit: Adapted from Moulton in E. O.
