Elongated, sunken brown lesions on a celery petiole caused by Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV).

A single stalk of celery is green and healthy-looking except for two elongated lesions in the inner surface of the stalk. They are brownish-grayish, and about a quarter-inch wide; the larger lesion is about 1.5 inches long. Credit: Yu-Chen Wang, UCCE Monterey County
