New Pest Alert series gets the word out

The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug Pest Alert is the first of a new series of information cards designed to increase awareness of new pests that threaten California agricultural, urban, or natural lands. This Pest Alert is available in both English and Spanish.

Pest Alerts let people know what they’ve found and what they can do about it. The cards include color photos, pest and identification tips, and descriptions of the damage the pest can cause if left unchecked. Cards can be produced quickly to respond to new situations, and they are distributed through Cooperative Extension programs and UC partner agencies.

A new Quick Tip about Asian citrus psyllid and the deadly Huanglongbing disease that threatens citrus, also prepared in both English and Spanish, is a similar publication. Both the Pest Alert and this Quick Tip are available on UC IPM’s Web site.
