What's new on our Web site
For
the newest advances on how to manage pests in your home and garden, or
on the farm, visit the UC IPM Web site. Pages are updated throughout
the year and in 2007 included:
- Five new Quick Tips cards on
gophers, ground squirrel, house mouse, psyllids, and garden chemicals
and water quality.
- Eleven new and 10 revised Pest Notes including coyote, avocado
lace bug, citrus leafminer, sixspotted mite on plumeria, springtails,
biological control, invasive plants, and woody weeds.
- Three quick turnaround publications related to new exotic pests: Light
brown apple moth in California, Cucurbit
yellow stunting disorder (information was also added
to the Cucurbits Pest Management Guideline, and Tomato
yellow leaf curl virus (Information was also added to the Tomato
Pest Management Guideline.)
- New information on flowers in
the home and garden section. The information includes more than 30
species of annual and perennial flowers commonly planted in garden
beds with specific pest problems and management solutions for each.
The section adds hundreds of new pests and photos to the database for
home gardeners and landscape professionals.
- Seventeen revised Pest
Management Guidelines, including a Spanish version of strawberries;
eight new entries to the Natural Enemies
Gallery; and five new entries
to the Weed Photo Gallery.
