Plant Description

The edible and harvested parts of a potato plant are the starchy tubers that grow underground. Several types of potato varieties can be grown, with different uses for different varieties. Some common potato varieties to grow in California include Norgold Russet, Red la Soda, Kennebec, and White Rose.

Cultural Tips

Cultural practices such as proper site selection, soil preparation, planting, and watering are important for plant health, pest management and pest reduction when growing potatoes.
