How to Manage Pests

Degree-days: Reference Tables

Beet Armyworm

Information about how to use this model in floriculture and ornamental nurseries

With this chart, you must add two half-day values to get total degree-days for one day.

  1. For the first half-day value, look up the value where the minimum and maximum temperatures for the day intersect.
  2. For the second half-day value, find the value at the intersection of the maximum temperature for the day and the minimum temperature for the NEXT day.
  3. Add the two numbers to determine the degree-days for the day. For odd-numbered temperatures, interpolate between numbers.

Lower Threshold: 54.0°F        Method: Single Sine
This is a double method; read two entries for each day and add.
