Identification key to sedges in turf

Plants with narrow leaves, arranged in sets of threes with stems that are triangular in cross section are sedges.

Select the illustration that best matches your weed sample.

A sedge with tubers A sedge without tubers

Underground brown or black tubers are produced; flowers are yellow or light brown

 No tubers are formed; flowers are green
