How to Manage Pests

The UC Guide to Healthy Lawns

Adjusting mower height

On most mowers, you can adjust the height by raising or lowering the wheels or by pushing and releasing a lever.

General guidelines

  • Place the mower on a flat surface.
  • Measure the distance from that surface to the blade on rotary mowers or to the bedknife on reel mowers.
  • Adjust to the desired height, but never adjust the mower height while the engine is running.

Refer to your user's manual for adjusting your specific type of mower.
