How to Manage Pests

Pests in Gardens and Landscapes

Nutrient deficiencies or toxicities in beans

Deficiencies and excesses of nutrients can cause diseaselike conditions. Symptoms vary depending on the nutrient involved, the cultivar, and the environmental conditions. In general symptoms include the overall yellowing, bronzing, or purpling of plants or light green or yellow areas in between dark green veins. Plants tend to be stunted and show poor growth.

Solutions

Follow recommended practices for cultivation of beans and maintain a good fertilization and irrigation program.
