Family Fagaceae (Beech family)

Older leaves are green above and grayish green underneath. Clusters of small white flowers bloom in summer, and acorns form.
Optimum conditions for growthTanbark oaks are often grown as street or lawn trees. They do best in areas with full sun or light shade and require no additional or little to moderate amounts of water.
