Pyracantha spp. are evergreen shrubs
ranging in size from 1.5 to 15 feet depending upon species.
They are known for producing colorful berries in the winter.
They can be used as barriers, hedgerows, espaliers, and screens
and the low-growing types as groundcovers.
*Some species are invasive weeds. Other types of plants may be better choices when planting.
Optimum conditions for growth
The climatic zone for Pyracantha varies by
species. They do best in full sun with moderate water. They
are hardy shrubs and fast growing.
