Plant IdentificationCamellias are evergreen shrubs or small trees
that can grow up to 20 feet; most species grow between 6 and 12
feet.
Optimum conditions for growthCamellias grow best with partial to full shade.
In cooler climates camellias can survive on available rainfall;
in other areas, summer irrigation is required. Camellias do best
in fast draining, slightly acidic soils with high organic matter
content.
