Plant Identification

Casuarinas are evergreen trees with long thin green branches, resembling pine needles.  They produce conelike fruit.

Optimum conditions for growth

Beefwood trees are often found in desert areas.  They do best in areas with full sun and can survive with little water.  They can tolerate a wide range of conditions such as heat, wind, or cold.
