Pests in Gardens and Landscapes
Artemisia, Mugwort, Sagebrush, Tarragon, Wormwood—Artemisia spp.
Family Asteraceae (Sunflower family)
Plant Identification
Artemisias are evergreen shrubs or perennials. Leaves of most species are silvery white or silvery gray. Other species have shiny and dark green leaves. Flowers are usually insignificant, but some species produce small white or yellow flowers.
Optimum conditions for growth
Artemisias are often found in mixed borders. Smaller forms do well in containers. Plants do well in full sun and require little to moderate amounts of water with good drainage.
