Plant Identification

Araucaria are evergreen trees with stiff branches and dark or bright green leaves.  Trees often form a pyramid shape.  Older trees produce large, spiny cones.

Optimum conditions for growth

Araucaria do best in areas with full sun and regular water.  They do well in most soils if there is good drainage.  Some smaller species make good potted plants.
