Abutilon spp., including flowering maple and other species, are evergreen shrubs with broad maplelike leaves and drooping bell-like flowers. Flowers may be white, red, orange, yellow, or pink.
Optimum conditions for growth
Abutilon is native to warm regions of the world. It does well in full sun but requires partial shade in very hot climates. Most species require moderate watering, although some species just need a little water. Abutilon does well if planted in pots but requires good drainage.
