Predators and parasites of mealybugs
Naturally occurring predators and parasites provide good control of many mealybug species, unless these
beneficials are disrupted. For instance, the parasitic wasps Anarhopus sydneyensis and Arhopoideus
peregrinus help to keep longtailed mealybug populations at low levels outdoors. Leptomastix dactylopii
is an important parasite of citrus mealybug.
An important predator of the citrus mealybug and other exposed species is the mealybug destroyer,Cryptolaemus montrouzieri.
