Pests in Gardens and Landscapes
Overwatering
Overwatering leads to lack of oxygen, which causes decay of feeder roots. Despite excessive water, trees
may look drought stricken because the uptake of water and nutrients is severely limited.
Solutions
Soil problems can be minimized by planting walnut trees on deep, well-drained soils. Maintain a good irrigation
program. If you use flooding on a heavy, layered soil, adjust your irrigation schedule or change to sprinkler
or low-volume irrigation techniques. |
