Pests in Gardens and Landscapes
Seasonal development
and life cycle—Walnut blight
The bacteria that causes walnut blight survives on and in dormant buds and catkins and also in twig
lesions. Rain or prolonged sprinkling is important for spreading bacteria and aiding infection. Early
leafing varieties are most severely affected, and the disease tends to be more severe in Northern California. |
