Planting recommendation based on soil temperature and activity of southern rootknot nematode. If grain is planted when soil temperature is above 64°: F (A), the activity threshold of M. incognita, the nematode can invade the roots and complete a generation before harvest. If grain is planted when soil temperature is below 64° F (B), the nematode cannot invade roots until spring, when there is not enough time for completion of a generation.
