Use the diagrams of the above root samples to assist in determining the degree of root galling and deceased root mass when sampling for root knot nematode using the weighted rating (WNR) method. A weighted rating of 0 is given for healthy roots with no galls. Rating 1 is for root systems that are 1-25% galled; 3 is for 26-50% galled; 5 is for 51-75% galled; and 7 is for 76-100% galled.
