Cutworms
Cutworms and loopers
Identification tip: Holes chewed in leaves; stems of young plants chewed through; look for larvae in foliage or on soil around base of plant.

Flea beetles
Flea beetles
Identification tip: Nnumerous small holes in leaves; small brown or black beetles that jump readily when disturbed.

Blackleg
Blackleg
Identification tip: Plants stunted with stiff, erect growth habit; foliage chlorotic, leaflets roll upward at the margins; stems usually but not always black; stem vascular tissue grayish black, base of stem often completely rotted; plants may wilt.

Late blight
Late blight
Identification tip: "Greasy" dark, water-soaked lesions on foliage and stems; white fungal sporulation may be present.

Early blight
Early blight
Identification tip: "Target spot" lesions; angular or round patches with concentric rings of dark brown or black, often with yellow margins.
