Green
peach aphid
Identification tip: Small, pale green insects, usually
found on lower leaves of plants; winged adults have black
patches on their backs.

Potato aphid
Identification tip: Larger than green peach aphids, usually
scattered throughout infested plants; both green and pink
forms occur on potato; winged adults do not have black markings
on their back.

Identification tip: Grayish caterpillars with brown heads;
feed inside leaf mines, mines in stems, or folded leaflets;
look for wilted or dead foliage at stem tips or brown leaflets
tied into shelters.

wings; fly readily when disturbed; nymphs flattened, disc
shaped, relatively immobile; adults and nymphs (shown here)

on undersides of leaves when adults are
found in sticky traps. Adults mostly
black with broad white band in first abdominal segment; clear
wings that rest rooflike over the body; jump readily
