The Western IPM Center received a four-year grant from the Crop Protection Pest Management Program of USDA-National Institute of Food and Agriculture. The grant focuses on providing regional coordination of IPM for the 13 western states and Pacific island territories. Continued annual funding in the four-year period is dependent on meeting objectives and annual appropriations in the federal budget.

Matt Baur joined the Center as associate director in May. His main tasks are administering the Center grants program, facilitating the work of the funded projects, and managing the budget.

The Center website was completely redesigned and updated. The new site has a more modern look and feel, is compatible with mobile devices, and uses a content management system for easier updating.

The Center funded 11 IPM projects in western states, including three in California – tribal IPM workgroup, bed bug workgroup, and database of products registered to control ectoparasites of animals.
