2011 Highlights: UC IPM Annual Report

insect wheel

Know your pest with IPM?s new insect identifier

UC IPM has developed an easy-to-use tool to help residents quickly identify pests they see and distinguish them from good-guy beneficial insects.

Designed as a wheel, this pest identifier shows a dozen problems and includes a photo along with a brief description of where the pest is found, its damage, and least-toxic control options.

The information is in English on one side and in Spanish on the other. Many UC Master Gardeners are distributing the wheels as part of their local programs.

UC IPM Program Representative Scott Parker in San Diego County developed the wheel.
