Carrot – Daucus carota

Plant Description
Carrots can be grown nearly year-round throughout California. A number of varieties can be grown in containers or in the ground. Direct seed and thin seedlings once sprouted. Carrots are ready to harvest about 90 days after seeding.
Cultural Tips
Cultural practices such as proper site selection, soil preparation, planting, and watering are important for plant health, pest management and pest reduction when growing carrots.
