Research and IPMGrants Programs: UC IPM Competitive Research
Status of the ProgramIn fall 2003, for the first time since 1980, UC IPM will not issue a general call for research proposals for next years funding. Permanent funding cuts to UC IPM during fiscal years 2002-03 and 2003-04 significantly reduced the research grants program, in addition to increasing UC IPMs reliance on external grants for ongoing operations. While the program fully funded this years continuing research projects, the possibility of further cuts makes availability of funding for projects next year uncertain. Researchers are encouraged to apply to the Exotic/Invasive Pests and Diseases Research Program if their projects target exotic pests or invasive species non-native to California. |
