Pests in Gardens and Landscapes
Foliage of Juniper |
Juniper—Juniperus spp.
Family Cupressaceae (Cypress family)
Plant Identification
Juniperus spp. are coniferous evergreen
groundcovers, shrubs, or trees. Size varies by species and
variety.
Optimum conditions for growth
Junipers can be grown in all climatic zones.
They do best in full sun to partial shade. Little water is
required on the coast; inland plantings require some summer
water. Junipers do well in most soils, but will not tolerate
heavy soils if they remain wet. Avoid planting next to lawn
sprinklers.
