Symptoms

Stripes of green, white, or brown turf are characteristic of fertilizer burn. Symptoms appear soon after fertilizer application and in patterns in which the fertilizer was applied.

Prevention and management

Follow the recommended fertilizer rate and frequency for your turf species. Make uniform applications. Do not apply fertilizers when leaves are wet, and be sure to water turf soon after fertilizer is applied.
