Twig blights on hemlock cause foliage to wilt and turn brown, reddish, or yellow. Shoots die back and may be bushy, stunted, or form witches' brooms. The fungi that cause twig blights infect wet foliage through wounds.
Solutions
Avoid wounding twigs. Prune out and dispose of infected shoots during dry conditions. Keep foliage dry by using drip irrigation and providing good air circulation. Avoid fertilization.
