Spiraea spp. are deciduous shrubs that grow 2 to 6 feet tall depending upon species and variety. They are recognized by their abundant flowering in whites, pinks, or reds.
Optimum conditions for growth
Spirea shrubs are easy to grow and grow in almost all climatic zones. They prefer areas with full sun to light shade. They require consistent irrigation and good drainage to improve performance. Prune spring-blooming varieties after they bloom. Summer-blooming varieties may be pruned in winter.
