Regreening

The rind of ripe fruit that hangs on the tree well into the summer becomes a greenish orange color.

Solutions

Regreening occurs primarily on Valencias and is mainly aesthetic. Because Valencias have excellent holding quality on the trees and stay on well into the summer, the chlorophyll returns to the rind, giving it the greenish color. These greenish oranges may be found in stores, sold as "Summer Greens." The fruit, although somewhat less visually appealing, will still have good quality and be, in fact, very sweet and juicy.
