Mountain mahogany is an attractive evergreen or deciduous shrub or tree with an open structure and branching pattern.  Leaves are green above and often white or grayish underneath with inrolled or toothed edges.  Mountain mahogany has small fruit and a feathery, tail-like plume form in fall. 

Optimum conditions for growth

Mountain mahogany is a native of Western mountains and foothills and can be grown as a hedge or small tree.  It does best in areas with full sun and requires very little or no water.
