Plant Identification
Giant sequoia is an evergreen tree, reaching up to 100 feet tall and 50 feet wide. The foliage is dense, prickly, with gray-green leaves. Trees are pyramid-shaped and produce reddish-brown oval cones.
Optimum conditions for growth
Giant sequoia trees are often found in large lawns or other open areas. They prefer areas with full sun and require moderate amounts of water. Plant in well-drained soil.
