Plant Description
Cucumber varieties are typically grouped into slicing and pickling types. Cucumbers, like other gourds and melons, produce two flower types, only some of which will produce fruit. Pollination, typically by bees, is required for fruit set. Trellising can be helpful to lift fruit off soil and help leaves dry faster to reduce spread of disease.
