Plant Identification
Cotoneaster take many forms. Some species are deciduous and others are semievergreen or evergreen. Plants may grow stiffly upright to 20 feet or as fountainlike arching branches. Some may even be groundcovers. Many have bright red to orange long-lasting berries.
*Some species are invasive weeds. Other types of plants may be better choices when planting.
Optimum conditions for growth
Cotoneaster plants are very adaptable to various climatic zones. They do best in areas with full sun. Little water is required once the plants are established. In hot summer areas, plants may require some irrigation.
