Plant Identification

Choisya is a fast-growing evergreen shrub that can grow up to 8 feet tall. Leaves are divided into three leaflets and held fanlike at the ends of branches. Clusters of white flowers and orange blossoms bloom in late winter or early spring. Choisya attracts bees.

Optimum conditions for growth

Choisya is often grown as a hedge or screen and does well in areas with partial shade. It can tolerate full sun in cool climates. Choisya will not grow well in alkaline soils or where water is high in salts. It requires moderate amounts of water and good drainage. To encourage new growth, prune out older branches.
