Plant Identification

Cape honeysuckle is an evergreen vine or shrub. Shrubs can grow up to 8 feet tall. If grown as a vine, cape honeysuckle can spread up to 30 feet. Leaves are shiny and dark green and divided into featherlike leaflets. Flowers are trumpet-shaped, orange-red in color, and are produced in clusters.

Optimum conditions for growth

Cape honeysuckle is often found on steep slopes in hot areas. Cape honeysuckle does well in areas with full sun or areas with light shade. It requires little water and can tolerate heat and wind.
