Plant Description

Cabbage grows well in California from late fall to early spring. Heads can be harvested when firm and well filled. Early and late varieties can be planted, as well as red and savoy varieties. Some varieties are resistant to certain diseases. Rotate cabbage and other cole crops (broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts) annually within the garden to reduce disease and insect pest build up.
