Maung Naing accepts web applications developer position

Maung Naing accepted the web applications developer position starting in October.

Naing graduated from UC Davis in 2019 with a bachelor of science degree in computer science. Naing is experienced with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS and Oracle database. While attending UC Davis, Naing worked as the lead software engineer for the student team at the UC Davis Utilities Headquarters. He worked on the MeterUI application that the Utilities Data and Engineering team uses to manage utility meter metadata and ensure accurate billing campuswide. As the lead he trained student programmers, planned and distributed programming assignments, performed code review, and worked with clients on new features and functions.

For IPM, Naing will lead programming efforts on various web programming projects such as developing the urban pesticide database, enhancing the IPM content management system, and completing the code for the refreshed Pest Management Guidelines treatment table. In addition to programming, a small percentage of Naing’s role will include help desk and systems/database administration.
