Sarah Risorto accepted the pesticide safety educator position and started working at full speed in March. She develops interactive training materials for fieldworker instructor training workshops and is upgrading the activities in our Train-the-Trainer program. She brings enthusiasm and creativity to this position and is a valuable asset on many projects within UC IPM.
Risorto comes to us from Ceres, which specialize in incorporating aerial imagery into agricultural production. Risorto also has a wealth of experience educating pest control advisers, pesticide applicators, and growers on the safe and effective use of organic and conventional pesticide products from her time working for DuPont and Marrone Bio. She has worked as an in-house pest control adviser, and therefore has valuable, field-based pest management experience in almond and pistachio.
