UC IPM welcomed Anne Schellman as the new urban IPM educator in April.  Schellman will support the outreach and education activities of the Urban and Community IPM Program by coordinating activities, carrying out train-the-trainer educational programs, developing materials, and delivering information to urban audiences throughout the state. She will work with the associate director for urban and community IPM and other UC ANR academics and staff to participate in program planning and to identify priorities, engage co-operators, and other activities to achieve UC IPM’s program goals.

Schellman comes to UC IPM from the California Center for Urban Horticulture (CCUH) where she worked for two years as the program manager, assisting with seminars for the general public, landscape industry, and UC Master Gardeners. She previously worked for UC Cooperative Extension in Stanislaus County as a horticulture program representative, and created printed materials for home gardeners as well as co-authoring several Pest Notes. Schellman also worked as the program manager for Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences, where she helped connect nutrition to horticulture related topics.
