Kassim Al-Khatib is now the Melvin D. Androus Endowed Professor for Weed Science at UC Davis. Under his leadership, UC IPM secured funding for the Western IPM Center and four years of USDA funding for the Program, strengthened the relationship between UC IPM and the Department of Pesticide Regulation, restarted the Pesticide Safety and Education Program, supported the effort to expand urban IPM, and increased the number of IPM advisors from 6 to 11. During his time with UC IPM, he developed the 10-year strategic plan and new herbicide injury photo repository.
