Objectives Study possible systemic movement using labeled bacteria.

Test the importance of pollen transmission in early-season blight.

Establish stage of nut development when an inhibitor can be found in husk.

Determine when buds and catkins become infested.

Continue observation of disease development in field.

Determine stages of susceptibility of nuts and time required for symptom expression.

Continue screening for possible biocontrol agents.
