How to Manage Pests

Pests in Gardens and Landscapes

Leafcutting bees—Megachile spp.

Megachile spp. are robust bees, about 0.5 inch long.

Leafcutting bees cut semicircular holes in the margins of leaves or blossoms. Bees line their nests with cut plant parts.

Bees are important pollinators and should not be killed. No effective nonchemical controls are known.
