How to Manage Pests
Pests in Gardens and Landscapes
Eutypa dieback delays shoot emergence in the spring, and causes chlorosis, stunting, and tattering of
leaves. Characteristic wedge-shaped, darkened cankers develop in the vascular tissue of wood.
Identification | Life cycle
Eliminate all infected wood of grape, stone fruit, or other known hosts to reduce the risk of this disease.
Prune directly after a rain because the risk for infection is lowest at this time. Hand paint or spray
large pruning wounds with fungicide as soon as possible after pruning and before rain. Prune late in
the dormant season to promote rapid healing of wounds.
